lean protein and complex hi fiber carbs. Always eat a combination of protein and carbs following a run to aid your muscles in repair. Bananas are good to build potassium levels.

Attached is an article from Runners World on Nutrition for a runner. I hope it helps

Lots of carbs. I reccommend italian food as they are packed with them. Stay away from junk food and eat healthy things like apples and celery.

Check out the forums on RunnersWorld.com. Lots of overly obsessed people there, with many opinions and some of them good.

its hard to say bc everybody is a different runner and have different needs.of course, carbs are a major staple in a runners diet. but, there is a difference between good carbs and bad carbs. carbs from a abg of doritos? not so much. try whole grain pasta with tomato sauce, or alfredo. its very healthy. 2nd, FRUIT! choose ur favorites and eat as many as u can. also, water= must have. as a runner u have to be way more hydrated than anyone. it is recommended 8 glasses a day, but as a runeer, go for 10-12 a DAY. also, salad wiht light fat dressing topped with veggies and nuts works wonders on ur intestinal system. you get less cramps, less often. good luck :)
