    At forty pounds it is going to be a combination of things. Don’t feel distressed though, because as you lose weight it becomes easier and easier to keep it off. The combination I would use is calorie restriction, cardio, and resistance training (weight lifting.) It is going to be tough in the beginning and you will be sore everyday, but that is the only way to get to the weight you want to be at. One excellent source I used was Jillian Michaels book…..seriously. Make sure you are not starving yourself either. This only works if your metabolism is healthy. The good news is, if you are overweight, you will drop pounds pretty fast. Gaining muscle is the #1 goal. Muscle burns way more calories then fat.

    The best thing that helped me was changing my mindset. My road to good health was slow, steady, and less stressful then when I used to go on periodic diets.

    I recommend reading articles off of WebMD and perusing the internet to read health articles. They are very interesting and shocking at the same time. It helps because next time you are around, say, a cupcake, you may hesitate before taking it because you will know exactly how sugar affects your body. You may eat it then, but the next time after that you may think, "You know what, it’s not worth it"

    Also, check out Borders, Barnes and Noble, or your local library for health books and cookbooks. Healthy cooking can be fun and tasty! When you change your approach to food, the weight will come off.

    dont do anything drastic like diet pills or cutting food groups from your diet. I would suggest you do it slowly and cut down portions and lots of exercise.

    You have to know what would fits your craving.If you want somehing that has peanut butter cups with no bad" foods, the 3-Hour diet plan could be great. Here, you need to eat breakfast within one hour of waking up then eat every three hours thereafter. You stop eating three hours before bedtime. Actually, this is the diet that I have used and it really works.

    I went with the Weight Watchers online program and had great results. In all, I lost over 20 pounds in only a few months. The online tools are easy to use. I was going to school at the time and working full time so getting to meetings was tough. I liked that with Weight Watchers you get to eat your own food.
