What do you think about fad diets?
Im just doing a report on fad diets, and im looking for people’s opinions on the matter. And don’t worry im not asking you so I can cheat or anything, just asking what other people think. Thanks!
Don’t worry, Im not asking because im interested in doing a fad diet, im somewhat against them. I actually dont like them, i think its a bad way to lose weight. But Im listening to both sides.

They work in the short term, so they’re great if you have something coming up that you want to look your very best at. Of course long term they can be dangerous to your health, and also if you do a fad diet you will put on weight when you go back to eating normally!!
Thats my opinion but I’m not sure if its fact or not. Another opinion is I don’t care, everyone can eat whatever they want its their business!!

Great. For their promoters.
And since they always lead to yoyoing or get dropped for other reasons, the customer will be coming back for more of the same.
So don’t be a sucker.
Do a web search on diets, and pick out a few such as Atkins or South Beach or Type, and try to find some real scientific evaluations ("appeared on Oprah" doesn’t count)

The problem with not loosing weight properly, is that your body figures out that what is happening to it is not healthy, and it tries to make you stop losing weight. Your metabolism will slow down so that your body can make better use of the food that you do eat, and your body will make your brain tell you that you are hungry so you will eat, this means that your chances of losing weight decrease.
Even worse, your body remembers this so that the next time you try to diet it kicks into gear faster, and takes the same protectionist stance.
A healthy diet that gives a slow weight loss combined with an exercise program is always best.

I think fad diets are just an excuse to get started into losing weight but not actually loosing weight. Its because what you are is what you eat.
