What are good foods to eat when dieting?
Friday, August 6th, 2010I know grapefruit is a really good thing to eat when you’re on a diet, but what other foods are good? Not just fruits or vegetables in general, but specifically. Thanks!

Could this be an effective diet for weight loss? I could care less if it is but I’m curious.
1. Controlling sugar intake and keeping it to a minimum.
2. Strictly drinking water and unsweet iced tea.
3. Fresh vegetables. If they are cooked, they are steamed or sauteed.
4. Only chicken and fish. No beef or pork.
5. Nothing fried.
I hate vegetables, corn is the only kind I can tolerate…
but I"ve been reading some diet plans online and most of them seem to forbid eating corn whilst dieting.
So what’s the deal?
I need to lose about 50-60 pounds. I am 6′0" and weigh 240 and 35. I just went to the doctor and he said I have slightly elevated BP and cholesterol of 230.
So I picked out my favorite healthy foods and I have decided to make my own. Please let me know if you think this will work. I will try to do some variation of this schedule every day.
8am- tea, granola bar or fresh fruit
10:30am- handful of almonds, water
1pm- 5-10 olives, fresh fruit, lowfat cheese stick, hummus or maybe a natural peanut butter sandwich, tea
3pm-another handful of olives (I love olives), water
5:30- 2 different types of fresh vegetables, small amount of meat, chicken or fish, small amount of rice or pasta or wheat bread, tea, water
8pm- fresh fruit again, maybe dried fruit or nuts
Again, there will be more variety as I figure out other things that I like that are healthy. But is this a good start? Any other heathy ideas, especially for snack times? Thanks!
I am lucky because I live next door to a grocery store and a fresh fruit stand that has healthy, cheap items. So the expense shouldn’t be a problem.
what’s a good diet for me? i am 14 and about 120 lbs.
i would like to lose some of that weight. i do not eat very many vegetables, i have not tried many vegetables. i am not sure i could convince myself to. i eat corn, raw carrots, peas, and occasionally raw green beans. i love fruit. it is also very hard for me because i live in a house where there’s a lot of junk food around. my mom is trying to gain weight. which makes me mad. i am starting to do crunches everyday. i also stretch everyday (straddle and stuff). i can’t go out for a jog because my mother thinks it’s "too dangerous" to go on my own. (rolling my eyes). anyway, i am a dancer and i would like to be skinnier. i do not believe in weight loss pills because they are a load of crap. please help me!
i am about 5 3.5- 5 4 height wise.
don’t say, you’re to young! i don’t want to be fat now or when i am older. you haven’t seen me, you don’t know what i look like.
I dont know haow to loose weight and i feel i really need to. i cant stick to exercising, i hate half the vegetables out there, and i can stop eating crap all them time whenever i think i may be hungry or just am in the mood for junk. please help!! if theres a way i can loose weight with a plan or anything!! thanks
I eat it probable 6 times a week. I love it. But is it okay while dieting? I usually have grilled fish or chicken with it and a serving of vegetables.
I’m doing some research on fad diets and trying to compile a comprehensive definition outside of the above. I’m confused since when I looked at a fad diet -i.e. 3day tuna diet – although limited, it consisted of vegetables, fruits, tuna, water, bread (obviously whole grain is preferred), tea, coffee. It’s not terribly unbalanced. The Blood Type Diet was another one listed, though I thought that was supposed to be alright. Can someone please clarify for me? I’m getting my info from http://diet.lovetoknow.com – it came up when I plugged in "fad diets" in www.dogpile.com search engine.
Who is for and who is against weight loss pills? I`m doing some sort of a survey among you people so I can decide whether I will take some weight loss pills in order to lose almost 30 pounds or not. If you don`t agree to weight loss drugs, what else besides eating vegetables do you suggest?
What would happen if someone who was very fit, had 0% body fat, but kept dieting, regularly eating a lot of things like vegetables, fruits, lean turkey, etc.?
Would their weight loss just stop due to no more mass to lose?
