How do you lose weight in your legs?

Aside from running, what type of exercises could I do? Would it be better to do more shorter/lighter reps or fewer/slower/heavier reps?
I’m not overweight by any means, but compared to a small waist I have disproportionate thighs :. Thanks!
I’d prefer to actually lose weight/slim my legs because toning them wouldn’t help my disproportionate figure.
Also, I want to actually EXERCISE, not try pills or strange diets.
