I want to lose 40 lbs without going on fad diets or exercising like a maniac. Please help me, I'm so fed up!

Here’s the deal. I’m in my early twenties, and in only 3 years I have gained 40 lbs. every time I try to make healthier changes to my diet, I fail to stick to them and end up going back to my old ways, which is eating junk and eating alot of take out, so I gain more weight.
I also do not like exercise. I don’t look as overweight as I am since it’s all concentrated on my stomach and chest. The rest of me is normal.
I tried joining gyms and even Curves in the past, but that’s not for me. I cannot jog because there are no sport bras or anything for that matter that will allow me to, if you know what I mean.
I love red meat, chicken, but not fish and beans.
I can cut out the junk food, but the problem is that my bf eats with me as well, and he likes to go to restaurants as do I. The social aspect of this is very difficult.

I’m also wondering on how I can lose this amount of weight without getting a saggy stomach. I rather have the fat than the sag.

I really want to emphasize that my weight is on my stomach. I have become so depressed and hopeless with this, that I have been only dressing in black for the last year. I refuse to wear a swimsuit, and I just hide myself as much as possible.
I know I’m an attractive girl, but I feel that if I dont start seing results fast, I will just continue eating my way to a bigger waist size.
I would love to hear from people who have been through this type of weight loss.

I know that the first 10 lbs are easy, but for me that’s never been the case.

I am not looking for an EASY way out, I’m looking for a REASONABLE way to go about this.
Becoming the next triathlete anorexic won’t happen :)

Oh yes, and I already cut out the diet sodas…as for eating just cereal, that won’t happen LOL.

Let’s say you have a lean person with very little body fat; and let’s say this person is trying to do as many push ups within a time limit. Does a diet with more ice cream, donuts, and junk food effect muscular endurance if the person is still getting adequate protein and carbs, and is still training with intensity and intelligence?

I am thinking about doing the Master Cleanse diet for 10 days to detox and drop some junk food weight that I know I have gained… I am going to be starting a diet of exercizing and eating right and I want to start fresh. Does anyone know what the recipe is to make this diet by the gallon so I can keep it in the fridge and not make it by the glass? N E help would be appreciated. THANX!

I haven’t been exercising as much, because of a couple of recent injuries, so my metabolism has decreased dramatically, because I’m usually so active. I’ve also lost some inches, because I decided to cut out junk food and fried stuff. How would I keep this weight loss even after what has happened to my metabolism?

ok, i’m tired of doing fad diets. I have lost so much muscle and very little fat as a result. So i’ve decided to spend my summer working out and getting in shape. i’m currently 154 pounds and 5′3′ i do have a quite a bit of muscle. i want to weigh 124 which means i need to lose about 30 pounds. i want to get in shape before school starts. which is in 2.5 months.

i’ve decided to eat 6 small meals.
No soda
candy and sweets at a minimum.
avoid junk food as much as possible
eat mostly fruits, vegetables, lean meats
eat healthier carbs (ie brown rice instead of white.)

I also plan on working out for an hour and a half each day. for 6 days a week.
I will do tae bo 4 days. jog the 5th day and lift weights the 6th day.
is it possible to lose 30 pounds by September or at least 20 pounds?

i will also drink A LOT of water.
is it possible? and if not, what else can i do?

Has anyone tried the raw food diet? Any tips?

I’m overweight by about 20lbs and would like to try the raw food diet. I’m vegan, but tend to eat a lot of junk food. I want to try the raw food diet for 3 months.

Do you have any tips and is this a realistic goal? to lose 20lbs in 3 months?

people who tried the cabbage soup diet only please!!tommorow is my last day..day number 7 and now i’m scared that i will gain it all back. how do i slowly start eating normally again? is this good?

breakfast: fiber one cereal
lunch: fiber one cereal and a fruit (or i might have a sandwich)
snack: activia with my own fruit put in
dinner: steamed veggies and grilled fish dipped in 1 tbsp (ish) or light mayo

if i eat nicley like this can i keep the weight off? and i’ll have like a few hundred calories a week of junk food for right now. (about 200)

What should my goal for one month of dieting be?

Im setting up a chart for myself to keep me from giving up on dieting, and I want to set up a reasonably high goal to aim for in terms of weight loss. What is a healthy amount of weight to lose in the course of ONE MONTH.
For extra details, im 14 (turning 15 in two months), I weigh between 164-170lbs, Im on my school swimteam in which we swim over 4000yds every practice (6 practices per week + meets on thursdays) and I also plan on fitting running for 15 minutes into my schedule at least every other day. I dont eat junk food or fast food, but I eat a lot of things like crackers and popcorn, which I will be giving up for more fruits and veggies. I dont eat much dairy, just skim milk, and I only eat whatever meat my parents cook (which is always healthy, since my parents are very health concious)
Some of my fat is probably also muscle (im a black belt in karate) and I also play a lot of DDR.
A lot of info to swallow, but any advice?
I also drink a lot of coffee (yes, I know how unhealthy that is for growth at my age ^^;), but I plan to switch that out with green tea.
