If you have high blood pressure (or at risk for it during pregnancy) then yes. If not, I would just eat a regular "healthy" diet and drink plenty of water. You do need to be careful, though. I was pregnant during summertime and was eating mostly fruits and veggies, and drinking TONS of water because I was terrified of dehydrating. I overdid it and made myself sick-nausea, dizziness, shaky, headaches (lack of sodium). So, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, or not enough of a potentially bad thing.
if you have high blood pressure than it is necessary to be on a low sodium diet… if you dont then salt is ok but dont over do it… to avoid salty food eat plenty of fruits and veggies and drink plenty of water
It would be a great thing to do! I have a cousin who was rushed to the hospital for high blood pressure.. apparently her salt intake was really high.. She was around 8 months pregnant.. So now i try to stay away from salty meals, i don’t always succeed though.
it’s also good because as pregnant women we are more likely to retain water & swell up on the hands & feet & with a diet low in sodium this would happen less.. I recommend you drink lots of water too, i try to do that & i believe i’m doing a good job since my wedding ring still fits perfectly =]

LOL, ”cankles” happen a lot in pregnancy, but it is much worse if you eat lots of salt & don’t drink enough water
The easiest way to lower salt intake is to put the salt shaker up where you have to deliberately go get it. If you put salt in the water for spaghetti for instance – measure out one teaspoon instead of just dumping some in from the container. Limit salty snacks like chips to what is actually one serving -check the package.
If you give in to the salty snacks – drink an extra glass of water it will help your body rid itself of the extra sodium.
