breakfast - wholegrain cereal such as weetabix with skimmed milk and fruit

snack - banana

lunch - wholemeal bread chicken and salad sandwich or tuna pasta salad and a piece of fruit

Dinner - grilled meat or fish, salad or veg and small jacket potato or tinned new potatoes.

Snacks - sugar free jello or low fat yoghurt or handful of nuts

________________________________

When you need a chocolate fix instead of wolfing down a bar just have 1 or two cubes and suck them for maximum flavour, minimum calories. Eat fruit or sugar free jelly for sweet puddings.
if you need icecream go for a frozen yoghurt desert rather than traditional icecream - it is much lower in fat - make it an occasional treat.
if you need a sweet snack have a currant bun rather than a cake - less fat sugar and calories.
If you pick in the evenings have a bowl iof chopped fruit rather than sweets.
Lightly salted popcorn is lower in calories than potato crisps.

you can purchase a simple mix of greens(salad) from the market. fruits are sweet, so they are also a great craving for your sugary cravings. if you are free during the weekends, you can try to cook big portions and freeze them. you can always heat it up.

Yeah eat things like kiwi's, instead of eating something fattening for breakfeast eat cheerios or drink a protein shake its amazing how filling they are. eat lots of fruit if you dont like cooking, i lost like 10 pounds just from not eating bread and chips and crap food.

I'm the same way. It's really hard. I'm a big convenience-eater, meaing I'll generally only eat what is conveniently at hand. If heathy foods were convenient and needed no preperation I'd be the healthiest person in the world.

Hypnosis might hlep you. What I do is I order in for every single meal I eat. It's expensive, but whenever I tell myself I'm going to start cooking- I don't. you can use that as a last resort.

There are a myriad of dieting tips on the web. Hundreds and thousands. Yahoo actually has a nice assortment of articles on good foods to eat that will give you the same kind of energy burst that sugar gives you (though of course, the healthier things come without the crash). I know you're asking for personal tips, but I think you should google 'healthier eating' or something along those lines, and see what you get. Foodnetwork.com has a 'healthy living' page with tons of good recipes. I'll leave some links in the source box. Good luck with your cooking. :)

you could make soup then freeze it, or even use tins- they arn't so high in fat. raw veggies/ fruit. check the saturated fat/sugar content of crisps/cakes/snacks - try to keep to ones that are lower. you still need to have a treat now and then or you'll just want them more.

Avoid meat.. I mean keep it moderate.but fish is okey
try making salads.. with fish, prawns or even meat(if you like) and lots of vegetables and you can also add fruits like pineapple, apple etc.
http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/salad/Main.aspx
Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes
Listen to the radio or to your favorite songs when you cook. (a tip for enjoying cooking)
Eat a wide variety of foods
try different different cooking methods

If you don't mind spending much, you can get one of those diet health clubs to make your meals. You pay them monthly, and they delver it to your house. Each day, they usually bring you diner and next day's breakfast and lunch.

They charge a bit high, but I did my own math and it would have been cheaper (for me :P) to pay them instead buying my own stuff and cook it. Putting in mind that I am lousy cooker :P

Hope this helps :)
