    Don’t stop dieting once you’ve lost it…..

    Whatever allows you to lose that weight in the first place should be equally effective at keeping it off… BUT … it could be that you’re uncomfortable with doing that for an extended period of time, and then some sort of alternative must be reached…

    Then… you haven’t specified exactly what you do that leads to it coming back again. Its obviously some lifestyle yoyo transition that leads to the equivalent weight-change…. so what you really need to do is take on a stable and comfortable lifestyle that you can maintain constantly and consistantly…. without needing to change.
    Maybe take it a little more slowly, if you must. Losing that 50lbs can be slowed down if it puts you in a situation where you can more comfortably continue along the same path and keep it off…

    Then…. I could just give my usual weight-loss suggestions:
    #1. Drink Vodka & Red Bull for fun and frivolous hyperactivity.
    #2. Do it in the cold… because shivering burns up energy reserves (as opposed to those weirdos who tell you to sweat it out, which is kinda gross).

    Well, the thing is, if you are going to go on a diet to lose weight, and then once you have lost the weight, you got back to eating the way you did before, of course you are going to put the weight back on. In order to keep the weight off, you have to do a complete lifestyle change. That includes eating healthy and exercising everyday. Unfortunately, there is no alternative.

    I would drink loads of water before meals, first thing before you eat anything in the morning, in between meals, also make a rule not to eat to late at night, this is when you ll collect most fat.

    The first step is to stop calling it a diet, after all if you look at the word closely you get DIE. What you are doing is mentally bashing yourself before even beginning.

    A few suggestions are to slowly decrease the amount of sugars and refined foods you are eating. If you do it all at once you will suffer from headaches and terrible cravings which in turn will cause you to "cheat" again. Give yourself a 2 week period without "white foods" such as sugar, white bread, potatoes, white rice and so on. Limit the amount of alcohol you consume and dairy you eat as well. Increase the green leafy veggies and try more fish if you are able to. And yes drink more water. It helps clear headaches, promotes better digestion and will help fill an over stretched stomach. IF YOU FEEL THIRSTY YOU ARE ALREADY DEHYDRATED. Some people need more than others when it comes to liquids.

    You may also want to get tested for food related allergies. Most people with them will crave the very foods they are allergic to and instead of feeling better after eating them they feel moody or worse. Once a food is identified as an allergen and taken out of the loop you will notice a change in skin, mood swings and even the texture of your hair.

    This comes from a constant dieter who finally saw the right doctors, was given the right answers and guidance. I have lost 150 pounds and kept it off for almost 10 years now. It is very hard work at first but you need to remember that YOU ARE WORTH THE EFFORT!

    What you are describing here is "Emotional Eating"

    Emotional Eating
    To lose weight permanently you have to
    deal with one issue: Emotional Eating – using food to escape or to make yourself feel better.
    Emotional eating means that you eat for some other reason than health or nutrition.
    This sounds pretty innocent, but Emotional Eating is actually what makes you break
    your diets. It’s what makes you feel intense cravings for particular foods. It’s what makes
    you overeat. It causes food addiction. It’s even responsible for binges and yoyo diets.
    Chances are, if you’ve ever struggled to lose weight and failed, or regained weight
    back after some success, you’ve struggled with Emotional Eating.

    This is learned behavior which can be unlearned through your therapy lessons. The next time you put something in your month to eat when you are not hungry-stop-and think about what you are dealing with, mentally, emotional, etc. and you will find most of the time that you are eating out of stresss.

    Emotional eaters, eat for the same reasons people smoke, drink, binge.

    Find a book or have your therapy counselor recommend one on binge eating.

    P.S. I lost 112 pounds by dealing with emotional eating. It was very hard. Food had become my friend and letting that go and looking for support in family and new friends was very difficult. Still learning.
