The problem with fad diets is that they work temporarily. People go on these diets to lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time. They tend to lose a great deal of water and muscle mass, with very little fat loss. Once they start eating normally again, they gain all the weight back.

The only "diet" that works is a long term diet full of healthy foods and exercise. That way you can nourish your body and keep the weight off.

Fad diets are exactly that. Fads. Short-term and ineffective.

I don’t have anything to add, other than to state that the "no carb" diet craze a year ago was pretty stupid. Your body needs carbs. Just don’t overdo it.

It’s not a fad diet but the weight watchers diet really worked for me. I’ve never stuck with it more than a couple of weeks though but every time i’ve tried i have lost at least 10 pounds, usually within about 2 weeks. But if your really commited my cousin lost about 30-40 pounds in about 3-4 months. Thats just enough time to be looking hot by bikini season. Good luck.

fasting really works i lost 15lbs in 8 days.its not the best way to lose the weight but it does work.fasting should only be done if your healthy and if you really want to make a change in your normal diet ever since i did my fast i tend to eat alot healther and i exersize everyday now.i just hope if you try this you only did it for about a week or so.listen to your body it know when it crosses the point and you could end up looking like nicole richie.
